Fire outbreak has hit Samsung office in Opebi Allen

The incident started at exactly 12:30pm.

The entire building  has been enveloped in a thick smoke. Situation is tensed in the area.

The second fire fighter bus of the Lagos state fire service has just arrived.

Firefighters are battling to salvage the situation as there may be an explosion at the scene due to an increasing thicker smoke.

Samsung worker have evacuated some valuable in the building including samsung products such as washing machine, freezers among others.

Heavy smoke is coming out of the building, even as firefighters are afraid of going into the building.

A hotel beside the building is at risk of being affected.

Accessing the building with water has been difficult due to the designs and coverings on the building.

It’s four hours after the fire outbreak, situation here remain uncertain. Although, Firefighters have been able to access some parts of the building, the smoke is still raging.

3:00pm: Four utility firefighter buses and a water thanker is here at the scene. An ambulance is also here.

The officers of the Nigerian police, NSCDC are also assisting in the rescue mission.

Officials of the company, SIMS Nigeria Ltd.; a franchise of Samsung appear to have been barred from speak to the Press. They declined comment on how the fire started.

3:50pm: But one of the staff who spoke with Greennews.ng in confidance said the fire started after electricity service provider restored power and there was a spark in the building.

4:15pm: A firefighter just fainted. He has been stretched into an Ambulance for firstaid treatment.

4:20pm: Three firefighters buses just left, apparently to get more water. The men of the Lagos state Fire Service have ran out of water.

4:25pm: Heavy smoke emmiting from the building, it appears some gadgets in the offices are still on fire.

4:33pm: one of the buses just arrived with water.

4:40pm: The smoke has significantly reduce now but still poses a threat and need to the completely put out.
